Bomberman shows how the classic strategy-action game is twice as intense on two
screens.
The demolition man has arrived and LAN gamers have found a new addiction. With
only one Game Card, up to eight players can battle either individually or as
teams to show their battlefield bomber dominance. If you're all by your
lonesome, however, Bomberman puts your skills to the test with 100 stages of
do-or-die detonation.
In the single-player mode, your goal is to use your arsenal of explosives to
blow up bricks to find a door to the next stage. After destroying all the
enemies on the map, you go through the door to get to the next stage. Some of
the bricks you blow up contain power-ups that increase your bomb radius, bomb
power, speed and more. Activate these power-ups with the touch screen. Most stay
with him until he loses a life.
Bomberman isn't for the faint of heart. Especially when getting into boss
battles, the fast, intense gameplay will have you running for cover to avoid the
blasts and your enemies.
The multiplayer battles offer endless gameplay possibilities. Once up to eight
players have downloaded the multiplayer mode from just one Bomberman Game Card,
you're faced with so many opportunities that you could spend all day just trying
each one out. Multiplayer Bomberman features 29 stages, each with a unique set
of rules. Some stages allow you to detonate your bombs by voice command and
others feature tunnels that connect the gameplay on the top and bottom screens.
Within each stage, you can adjust the game rules. Select the number of battles
you need to win, the length of the match and starting positions. For an even
more frenzied experience, you can choose to cram all players on one screen
instead of using both.
If more than two players hook up to battle, you can split into teams and work
together. You're not immune to your teammates' bombs, so watch your step!
