The klaxon alarm is shrieking! Something is wrong! The Professor wrestles his
damaged spaceship to a crash landing on a mysterious planet.
In the aftermath of the crash, The Professor discovers that the power sources of
his ship, known as Cells, have been scattered across the surface of this strange
world. To retrieve them all, The Professor enlists the aid of a brave young man
named Terry ?€” and a brave video game player known as you! The Professor and
Terry will ask for your help during the course of the adventure, using the
Nintendo DS to "contact" you along the way.
Will The Professor gather the Cells and return to outer space? Will you learn
the goal of the mysterious organization that seeks to gather the Cells for
itself? The future of an entire world has been placed in your hands!
One thing gamers will notice right away about Contact is it's not an easy game.
Cash resources are thin and once you get into your first real dungeon, you'll
realize you should do some more leveling up before you let the skeletons wax
you. For those looking for a roots RPG, Contact stays true to the formula.
In addition to the traditional leveling up and complement of weapons that affect
your attributes, Terry can find different suits that give him extra elemental
power and bumps up his attributes.
The dungeons are well-crafted and hidden rooms are tough to find, as they should
be. Gamers won't spend too much time listening to mindless banter from
non-playable characters (NPCs). Instead, they get thrown right into the action
of battling, battling and more battling. You can kill everything you see, even
if it's not bothering you, but that hacking can adversely affect your prestige
rankings.
Abundant gameplay activities including animal-training, item-collecting,
monster-hunting, and old-school mini-games!
Dual-screen functionality with mission maps, interior/exterior
viewpoints, and more!
Real-time combat with special abilities and powerful "Decal Attacks"!
Through Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection is where you really make contact. Up to
eight friends can visit you on WiFisland. Once another gamer makes contact with
you, that player becomes an NPC in your game. They can give you items and teach
you techniques. One you start conversations with these NPCs, new events will
trigger. The more friends who join you on WiFisland, the more benefits you'll
experience. Secret events will occur outside of WiFisland, as well, including
finding new treasure, unlocking rooms, finding new NPCs and more.
