Evolving? Race with your favorite Digimon character and evolve in the process in
Digimon Racing. The main mode, Cup Race, puts you in a competition with five
other Digimon to see who can get the best score in a four-race circuit. At the
end of each Cup, you'll battle a boss. Defeat the boss to unlock another Cup.
Digimon can pick up weapons to use against other drivers. Also, keep a sharp eye
on your Evolution Meter, at screen left. Run over evolution zippers to increase
it. When the meter is full, your racer evolves into a super-fast Digimon that
can bump into other racers to send them spinning. Your evolved Digimon can shoot
a fireball that tracks the closest driver. Shooting a fireball depletes your
meter, though. When your meter is less than one-third full, you'll de-evolve
into a puny Digimon that other drivers can push around like a Pez dispenser in a
tornado.
If you need to, you can park on an evolution zipper rather than just driving
over it. Of course, stopping like that means you'll have some ground to make up.
In the boss levels, it's just your Digimon against an enemy who shoots objects
at you. You drive around the course looking for weapons to shoot back at the bad
guy. You have only a limited amount of time to defeat your enemy, so find those
weapons fast. In this stage, max evolving will not produce a fireball for your
Digimon. You have to track down your weapons the old-fashioned way
