E.T.: The Extra Terrestrial is a step-by-step walkthrough of the movie, with you at the controls. From E.T.'s botanical mission in the forest, to his capture by agents, to his eventual escape, players assist Elliott find a way home for E.T. There are a variety of mission types, from collecting parts for E.T.'s phone, to riding Elliott's bicycle, to a match game where players fit pieces of the phone into a vague diagram. The graphics are appealing and well-drawn, with enough detail fill the eyes and move the story along.
