In year 70 of the Cosmic Era, advanced weapons called mobile suits have given the Zaft space colonists the upper hand in their ceaseless war with the Earth Alliance. In Gundam Seed: Battle Assault, the Naturals on Earth develop their own battle suits and try to turn the war's tide.

For this fighting game, you get behind the controls of the mobile suits and fight against characters from the show. The suits are equipped with two weapons and thrusters to help you get vertical. Much like other fighters, you can perform combos that inflict more damage on your opponent. With weapons combos, the results can be devastating.

Once you pick which character you wish to play as, you may adjust your suit's specifications. Add or take away from your thrusters, suit armor or hit points.

Game modes include a sketchy story mode in which you must defeat one fighter after another and time-based challenges. In survival mode, defeat as many opponents as you can before your energy runs out. In vs. mode, hook up another GBA through the Game Boy Advance Link Cable and fight a friend.

Although many options are available to you during battle, it's easy to control the well-designed fighters. It's the winning that's the hard part.
