Moto GP brings the fast paced sport of motorcycle racing to the Game Boy
Advance.
In Moto GP, you can rip up the tarmac at upwards of 200 miles per hour. Real
life manufacturers lend a total of 10 high-tech machines to Game Boy Advance
players with offerings from Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki and more.
Several game modes will test your skills. Quick Race mode puts you in the driver
seat right away, while Time Attack lets you race without the pesky
computer-controlled drivers. In Tournament mode you advance through a short
series of races, and Grand Prix takes you around the world in a 16-race season.
THQ takes the realistic approach to racing in Moto GP. You will take a nasty
spill if you try to floor it through the turns. Most of the passing is done on
the straight sections, but the decent AI of computer opponents will attempt to
hold you at bay.
Real-life drivers and locations add to the realism of Moto GP, but the graphics
and sound fail to impress. The backgrounds are nice but signs and track markings
lack detail. Crashes are accompanied by a weak sound effect and
less-than-spectacular animation.
