One Eye Jack is a streetwise kid ready to take on an invasion of smack-talkin'
aliens in No Rules: Get Phat. Armed with a slingshot and a lively vocabulary,
our delinquent hero skates, snowboards and scratches his way through five worlds
of dope stylin' and phat ridin'.
The hip-hop style of the No Rules clothing brand comes out nicely during the
tongue-in-cheek cut scenes in which the story unfolds through the funky, fresh
dialog of Jack and his Super Homeez. As they talk about takin' down the whack
aliens who macked their board, a translation appears in plain English for the
tragically unhip.
Despite its bold humor, the actual gameplay of No Rules: Get Phat falls flat.
When Jack ends up doing a face plant it is often due to the frustrating controls
rather than a lack of skills.
In addition to trick power-ups and slingshot ammo, each level hides 10 records
that come in handy during the unique boss battles. Jack uses the records to melt
the boss aliens by mixing and scratching funky beats on his turntable.
Unfortunately, these seemingly innovative battles turn out to be rather simple
