Not only are the Hoodlums up to no good, they're out to get our hero.
No limbs? No problem. Rayman has been keeping the peace for a long time, even
without arms and legs. But this time, the disturbance is personal as the
Hoodlums have kidnapped Rayman's right-hand man, Globox. Time for Rayman to
rescue the day and collect plenty of lums along the way.
The three-quarters view is notorious for making jumps difficult because of the
tough-to-judge angles. However, gamers can hold the L Button to see more of the
surrounding area.
One thing that hasn't changed is Rayman's desire to fly. Use his helicopter hair
to glide from platform to platform. Along the way, Rayman collects gadgets that
will help him reunite with Globox.
Globox isn't just a friend in need; he's a playable character. Like Rayman,
Globox is looking for lums and saving Teensies. However, he doesn't quite have
the fearless nature of Rayman. If Globox sees an enemy, Globox panics and runs
away. Spread througout the Globox levels are barrels of plum juice, which
provides Globox with a little liquid courage when he's up against enemies. He'll
need to take on the bad guys in order to advance past gates.
Although you're seeing Rayman at a different angle, the gameplay hasn't skewed
from what makes Rayman games great. The games in this charming series are
deceptively challenging and loads of fun. Just enough humor is sprinkled in to
give you a chuckle now and then.
