Your favorite characters from the TV show put their thinking caps on and prepare
their fighting strategies in Shaman King: Legacy of the Spirits.
Shaman King: Legacy of the Spirits re-creates all the strategic nature of the
Shaman King tournament. As junior high student Yoh Asakura, who is secretly a
shaman, you will use spirit powers to defeat other shamans and spirits in this
strategy game. Yoh begins by uniting with the 600-year-old spirit of samurai
Amidamaru.
Through his powers, Yoh can communicate with other spirits, who help him in his
quest to be crowned Shaman King in the Grand Tournament, held only once every
500 years. Yoh can use special items to capture the spirits he defeats. You'll
find more than 1,000 spirit types in the game.
When spirits battle, you're faced with four choices: Select Spirit, Select
Technique, Inventory and Flee. Select Spirit lets you choose which of your
inventory of spirits you want to send into a battle. Each spirit has at least
one mode of inflicting damage which you choose in Select Technique. In
Inventory, you scroll through your items, mortuary tablets and precious items.
You can use some of these in battle. Defeating spirits gains you money,
experience points and sometimes a new spirit who will fight for you.
Yoh can combine some spirits to form new spirit types. He'll also need to get
the right spirit in the right battle situation. When he's not fighting, Yoh
travels around the Shaman King world and talks to people as you would in a
typical RPG.
Both Sprinting Wolf and Soaring Hawk feature the same story and gameplay, but
some spirits differ. With the help of a Game Boy Advance Game Link Cable, you
can trade spirits between the two games.
